Official Record. The Register of Directors lists the names of directors, one piece of contact information provided by that director, the date the director was elected/appointed, and the date they resigned or their term expired.
Official Record. The Register of Members lists the names of members and only one piece of contact information the member has provided.This list is organized by different classes of members (if different classes exist).
CRA designation. A charitable organization, public foundation, or private foundation registered with the Canada Revenue Agency. A registered charity is exempt from paying income tax and can issue tax receipts for donations it receives. It must be established and resident in Canada, operate for charitable purposes, and devote its resources to charitable activities.
To qualify as a charity must fall within the following:
- advancement of education;
- relief of poverty;
- advancement of religion;
- other purposes beneficial to the community (e.g. health, environment).
Identifier. An identifier like a password that belongs to a non-profit used to access and file online information.
The registry key is not the same as BCeID. The registry key is unique to the non-profit as an organization while the BCeID is for a specific individual.
